Everyone watching the travesty in North Carolina over a Supreme Court seat? By a razor-thin margin, Democrat Allison Riggs defeated Republican Jefferson Griffin last November by a little more than 700 votes. Two recounts were done and the election was audited. Little, if anything changed. That should have been the end of it. It most certainly was not. Griffin refused to concede, and has been on a months-long legal campaign to get votes invalidated. How he funded this campaign and who his backers are should raise some eyebrows. There's Leonard Leo, a master at using dark money to fund these sorts of conservative activities. There's also Cleta Mitchell, an election denier and a lawyer present on the phone call Trump made to Brad Raffensperger demanding votes. I don't want to do a Charlie Day impression and show you a graphic representation of the connections these individuals have, one of which is their devotion to Project 2025. Fortunately, The Contrarian has done that for me. So what is the current state of play?
As of this writing, Griffin found the right court to get votes thrown out. Originally he sought 60,000, but the court denied him that. Instead, the judge has decided to provisionalize about 5,000 overseas ballots, giving registrants 30 days to cure their ballots. It goes without saying that many of these voters will be serving abroad in the military, so this is a pretty slimy way to slot Griffin on the court. Riggs remains undaunted, and isn't giving up her right to be seated. What's important here is that it's in the plan to repeat this every time there is a close vote. Therefore, this affects every state.
